Troffer Lighting Profiles

Housings, lens plates and diffusers for recessed troffer luminaires – extruded sections for office, healthcare and education ceilings.

What this application demands from the profile

A troffer has three jobs for the profile: close the housing, diffuse the light, and control glare for people working underneath it for eight hours a day. That last one is why troffer profiles are usually prismatic or micro-prism rather than plain opal.

The sections are also wide and flat, which is the geometry most likely to sag or show flow lines if the tooling and cooling are not right.

Troffer lighting profiles - what we supply
Luminaire typeRecessed troffers for offices, healthcare, education and corridors
Profile roleHousing, lens plate, diffuser or door frame section
MaterialsPMMA for transmission and prism detail; PC for impact-prone areas
SurfacePrismatic, micro-prism, frosted or opal
GlareSurface structure designed to the UGR target of the luminaire
GeometryWide flat sections engineered against sag and flow lines
AssemblyHinge, clip and frame geometry extruded into the section

Profile requirements

  • Wide flat sections that stay flat and free of flow lines
  • Prismatic or micro-prism surfaces for glare-controlled installations
  • Frame, hinge and clip geometry integrated into the profile
  • Diffusion matched to LED pitch and efficiency target
  • Consistent dimensions so lens plates drop into the housing cleanly
  • Protective film to keep optical surfaces clean through installation

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. Give us the UGR target and the luminaire layout; glare is controlled with prismatic or micro-prism surface structures, confirmed on prototype sections.
Through section design, die design and cooling. Where a wide flat section needs it, we advise on ribs or a slight crown to hold the panel flat.
Co-extrusion can combine zones in one section, and clip or hinge geometry can be extruded directly into the profile to reduce parts.
