Custom LED Lenses

Extruded linear lens profiles that shape the beam without secondary optics – for linear, architectural and industrial LED luminaires.

What we supply

An extruded lens profile is a linear optic: it runs the length of the luminaire and shapes the beam in the plane across it. Used well, it removes a separate optic, a fixing and an assembly step.

Lens geometry is the hardest thing to hold in extrusion because the optical surface has to be accurate along the whole length. Acrylic is the usual choice – it replicates fine geometry well and transmits more light – with PC used where the lens also has to take impact.

Options we build into the profile

  • Linear lens geometry that replaces a separate secondary optic
  • Asymmetric sections for wall-wash and area lighting
  • Prismatic lens surfaces for glare-controlled installations
  • PMMA for maximum transmission, PC for impact resistance
  • Optical surface protected through production and packing
  • Prototype approval before production tooling release

Frequently Asked Questions

For linear luminaires, often yes. An extruded lens shapes the beam across the luminaire width and runs continuously along its length, which a moulded optic cannot do as economically.
PMMA replicates fine optical geometry accurately and transmits more light. PC is used when the lens also needs impact resistance.
Optical surfaces are held through die design, calibration and cooling, and verified on prototype sections before production tooling is released.
