PMMA Optical Profiles

Acrylic optical extrusion – lens and prismatic sections where maximum transmission, fine surface detail and long-term clarity decide the material.

What we supply

When the requirement is transmission and precision, acrylic wins. It holds fine prism and lens geometry, it transmits more light than polycarbonate, and it keeps its clarity over years rather than months.

This is the material we use for most linear lenses, prismatic diffusers and light-guide sections, with the section and surface designed together against your optical target.

Options we build into the profile

  • Fine prism and lens geometry held accurately along the length
  • Light-guide sections for edge-lit luminaires
  • Prismatic surfaces for UGR-controlled installations
  • UV-stable grades for exterior and signage use
  • Co-extrusion with PC where impact resistance is also needed
  • Prototype approval before production tooling release

Frequently Asked Questions

Higher transmission, better replication of fine geometry, and better long-term UV stability than standard polycarbonate.
Yes – PMMA is one of the most UV-stable optical plastics and is widely used outdoors and in signage.
We can co-extrude a PMMA optical layer onto a PC body, or review whether a PC grade with a slightly coarser geometry meets both needs.
